The 8 Ensembles
The ensembles of Musica Sacra International introduce themselves. They bring together sacred music from different religions and cultures - “Resonances of the Sacred.”
Sing with us in the festival choir!
Singing brings people together! Join Musica Sacra International as a singer in the festival choir and play an active part in shaping the festival. The festival choir is conducted by Prof. Jan Schumacher. The Brigham Young University Singers, who are also taking part in the festival itself, will provide support as a studio choir.
The Polish composer Zuzanna Koziej was commissioned especially for the festival to set the ‘Gayatri Mantra’ to music. In addition, compositions by Gerald Cohen, Claude Goudimel, Ali Ufki and Recep Gül will be rehearsed. The festival choir’s programme, curated by Bettina Strübel, will be performed at the grand closing concert on 26 May in the Trinity Church in Kaufbeuren, together with the other choirs and ensembles.
Unfortunately, the 2026 Festival Choir is already fully booked.
